In Memoriam: Jeffrey Lewis Aga
Passed November 27, 2018
On November 27th, 2018, Jeffrey Lewis Aga passed away peacefully at the age of sixty-two, after an intense battle with cancer, with his wife and daughter by his side. Born to Roswell and Jean Aga, he grew up not only in Washington but briefly in California and Florida. It was the spark of wanderlust and adventure that he carried throughout his life, leaving no stone unturned from the sea to sky. In his youth, he gave his parents a series of frights as he hitchhiked from Seattle to Europe, exploring England, France, and Spain. A sailor through and through, he explored not just the surface of Puget Sound on his boat “The Sanctuary” but also explored its depths as a recreational diver. He climbed Mt. Baker and Mt. Rainer, reached new heights as a private pilot before settling long enough to go to college.
He graduated from Wichita State University with his bachelors in science. It was there he met his future wife, bonding over shared class notes. They married just prior to graduating so they could take the next steps in the rest of their lives, together.
After moving back to Washington, he went on to work for Boeing as an Aero PD (Product Development) engineer like his father before him. Since he was a child, Jeffrey had a great love of music which he passed on to his daughter, whom he taught to play the guitar. One of their favorite songs to play together was Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here.” Although his days as a world traveler were long behind him, he never stopped looking for his next adventure. Whenever he could spare the time, Jeffrey loved to work on restoring his ’67 Camaro from the vehicle he used to drag-race with to something the whole family could enjoy on a day outing.
Jeffrey was best known for his joyful sense of humor, dedication to his family, and adventurous spirit. He had a built a life as he had lived it with full of love, laughter, and music. He is survived by his wife, Chi, their daughter, Samantha, and his younger sister, Debbie.
