In Memoriam: Tamara “Tam” L. (Griffiths) Read

9 December 1956 – 5 October 2000

“I always liked Tamara. She was down to earth, but had a positive attitude. Tamara was in the percussion section of our school band, the backbone of “the sound”. She could hit the bass drum as good as any guy. One time, during an especially spirited public performance of ‘The 1812 Overture’, Tamara hit the bass drum so hard she broke the head off the mallet and it went flying! As I write this, there is rain and loud thunder… and I’m sure Tamara is still beating the drum.”

“I met Tam at Seahurst Junior High. One thing we shared was a love for all things Osmond! Tam was my source for all of the Tiger Beat posters and articles; we spent many after-school hours at her house poring over the magazines and talking about our favorite teen heartthrobs. Between that time and our band/orchestra class, I remember lots of fun with Tam.”
