In Memoriam: Steven “Steve” Wheeler

“I am sad to bring news of the death of classmate Steve Wheeler. Steve’s sister Sheri called me yesterday to let me know that Steve had died at his Black Diamond home unexpectedly sometime overnight Tuesday or Wednesday. The cause of death is unknown but he had struggled with diabetes related health issues for some time. He was not married and has no children. He was 59 years young.

“He and I have been close friends since Sylvester days and he was the best man at my first wedding. When my boys were young, he spent a lot of time at our home and really enjoyed the ‘family time’ with the kids.  I hadn’t seen Wheels since the 40 year reunion but I was glad he decided to attend at the last minute.”
