In Memoriam: Robert “Bob” Herrett

Bob Herrett passed away July 3rd, 2017.  Bob had a double dip, macroglobulinemea (a rare blood cancer) which lowered his immune system, as well as stage 4 prostate cancer.

“I first met Bob in 7th grade at Louise Boren Junior High School on Delridge in West Seattle.  We were fellow emigres to Seahurst and then Highline. His family moved into the palatial Burien Gardens apartments before we did. Bob was the one who got/invited me to play on the 9th grade soccer team with him and Dan Nielsen. That’s the way it always went with Bob. He’d be walking by and say, “come on we’re going” and I’d say “Ok, where?” They were always great adventures. It’s his fault I ended up in Tom Jones. Didn’t know a thing about it and Bob was walking down the hallway in Highline and said, “Come on, we’re going to try out for the play.” Sure… what play…?  They truly were great rides with Bob.”
